2016 SWAT school schedule

The CSPD Tactical Enforcement Unit will be conducting it's annual SWAT school in May 2016. The school is scheduled for May 23 through May 27, 2016. Registration for the course is now open. 

The SWAT school is open to active Law Enforcement employed with Federal, State, County, City, agencies and Active Duty Military with a law enforcement MOS or in a law enforcement role. Current Law Enforcement and Military identification is mandatory for entry into the school. The class size is limited so registration is on a first come basis.

Location: Colorado Springs

Class Size: 48 students
Cost: $350/student 

Total for the week: $350/student

Each day will consist of classroom instruction in the morning, with the afternoon dedicated to practical exercises. The week will conclude with one day of live fire at the CSPD range.

  • Room Clearing Techniques

  • Breaching Techniques

  • Vehicle Take Downs
  • Bus Assaults
  • Snipers Role in Tactical Operations
  • Barricaded Suspects/Hostage Situations
  • Diversionary Device/Chemical Deployments
  • Dealing with Active Aggressors
  • Officer/Citizen Rescues
  • TEMS Intergration

Practical Exercises Include:

  • Covert Clearing / Stealth Movements
  • Vehicle Take Downs
  • Tubular (Bus) Assaults
  • Hostage Rescue
  • Room Clearing Techniques
  • Officer/Citizen Rescues
  • Warrant Service
  • SWAT Call Scenario
  • Tactical Equipment selection/use

  • BDU's or Tactical Uniform
  • Boots
  • Eye/Ear Protection
  • Subgun or .223 (if available)

  • Duty Handgun
  • Tactical/Ballistic Vest
  • Helmet
  • 500 Rds of Handgun Ammo
  • 300 Rds of Subgun or .223 Ammo
  • **Optional 100 rounds of Sim-Munitions
